I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to SHOES DO IT, a project I have initiated to collect and share women’s shoe stories.

Wearing glass slippers, Cinderella found her Prince Charming and lived happily ever after - or so the story goes. One thing is for certain she loved those shoes!

Every woman has a “Shoe Story”, a memory of a pair of shoes that will never be forgotten. From Marie Antoinette to Imelda Marcos, from Queen Victoria to Oprah Winfrey, women are hard-wired to their shoes.

Only you know the story that goes with that one pair of shoes. From a bridesmaid’s ensemble to a graduation, one pair of shoes is a memory. From a tryst to a price tag, one pair of shoes is a secret. From a job interview to a half-marathon, one pair of shoes is a first step.

I’ve established Shoes Do It! to collect and share your shoe stories. At www.shoesdoit.ca, your stories will enable women to share the steps they have taken in life through a metaphor that only women truly understand.

Inspirational, humorous or downright juicy, tell your story. Whether it is about adversity or controversy, open that shoebox and talk your walk.
